This week, I made a shuttlecock with five identical feathers. It was actually quite easy to cut the curved feathers using a band saw, and it took me less than an hour to finish them. However, I spent a lot of time making the soft cork base. It was tricky to position the cube correctly while drilling holes with a drill press. Then, when I tried to deepen the holes with a hand drill, I made a huge mistake: I had the drill spinning in the wrong direction, so at first, it wouldn’t go into the wood no matter how hard I pushed!
